dc.description.abstractBackground: Annually about 550 Community and Health Sciences students participate in the Interdisciplinary Health Promotion course which aims to equip students with the basic knowledge skills and understanding of health promotion concepts. Students are expected to plan. implement and evaluate school-based projects with half of the course time spent at the school sites. In 2005. these were two schools in Delft, a poor socio-economic area about 10 km from the university. the projects articulated with the Life orientation learning area in the school curriculum.en_US
