dc.description.abstractOn Wednesday 30 April 2014, a group of people (30 to be specific) which consisted of farmworkers/ farm-dwellers, activists, students, and academics met to discuss the ‘final policy proposals’ on Strengthening the relative rights of people working on land. This document was developed by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR), published on 31 March 2014. The discussion was hosted by the Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS) at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). As PLAAS and FAWU had already issued statements about the new policy, these positions were briefly introduced.en_US
